Greetings, guests of my site!
Shall we get acquainted?
I am Dana Gurney.

I’ve been living in Croatia for eight years now, traveling independently, collecting impressions, often looking at the sky, talking to things and believing in miracles. And they do happen.

Since childhood I dreamed of living by the sea and I knew that one day everything would happen. And it did!

At first glance, completely by chance, but now I know for sure that accidents are not random.

I have 26 countries, 11 seas and 2 oceans in my travel collection

I’ve never been a fan of walking in formation, so group tours and the dubious possibility of looking at the world through the eyes of a tour guide – “look left, look right”, galloping “galloping through Europe” in the style of “zigel, zigel, ay lulu”, is not my way of traveling.

I wanted not just to run through the sights and tick “I was here”, but to immerse myself in the flavors, mood, atmosphere, customs of the country I was visiting.

That is, to live not as a tourist, but as a local.

Many people ask – how did I decide to travel independently to countries with a different language, manners and customs?

Was I scared? Scared – no. Interesting – yes.

Everything is interesting – from making a travel itinerary, buying plane tickets, booking hotels and apartments, to staying in a new country for me.

I know it’s hard to decide to travel on your own. For some it’s a new adventure, and for others it’s getting out of their comfort zone.

But believe me, it is such a pleasure to live in an old house in Paris or Nice, to open the door with your own key and to be amused by the “bon jour” said by your neighbor for the third time in a day.

As a result, I have accumulated a lot of experience of independent traveling, gigabytes of photos, many impressions and useful information, which I share with you here and on social networks.
